Designed by God?

We see ordered and managed systems throughout the natural world. The natural sciences (physics, chemistry, etc) show an order to the universe. There are known, defined rules operating everywhere we look.

There are many hypothesis about how things (of all sorts) operate. Many of these will not be proven to be correct but they will be replaced by other ideas until one is found that seems to be OK (on the basis of the current scientific knowledge at that time).

We call them 'natural' laws, they are implicitly part of nature itself. We know the speed of light, the rate of decay of various isotopes, the chemical makeup of most materials, etc.
But all we are doing is measuring stuff. We can also see to some extent the role that stuff has in relation to other stuff.

Scientists cannot say 'why' these laws exists, they just accept their existance. Genesis says that God created the stars, the sun and the moon. There was day and night with greater lights during the day and lesser lights during the night. So along with the physical sun, moon and stars, there was also gravity so the sun, moon and planets were moving in their defined patterns. The movement of those stars that could be observed from earth are also predictable and the natural laws also applied to them.

So why is the Universe as it is?
There are many galaxies each consisting of billions of stars. Why is our planet where it is in the Universe? Is it lucky(!) that the Earth is where it is? Most galaxies appear to be too unstable, too hot, too near dark holes, to have too much radiation, to have too much of this or not enough of that! Even in our galaxy the Solar system is in just the right place, with just the right sized Sun, and just the right sized planets and just the right sized trajectory around the sun, etc. etc. Our place in this universe was selected for us by God.
The earth actually existed before the sun, the moon and the stars. God did not pick a special place for the earth. He created everything else around the earth to keep us safe!

The Evolutionist used to think that there were millions of places in the Universe with our form of life. Now they have decided that there may only be a few other places capable of supporting life (as we know it Spock!)
So human beings are really lucky, aren't they? Almost anywhere else in this huge Universe and we would not exist!

Why cannot they accept that humans are special and that we are in a special place in this universe because that is where God wants us to be!

The universe is ordered and logical. Order infers a Designer and that Designer is the Christian God and the Bible explains our existance and our purpose.
